PROPERTY OVERVIEW

Main Homestead

The property boundary is securely fenced and internally fenced into one exceptionally large cultivation paddock, one smaller cultivation paddock and five grazing paddocks containing fringe grazing areas.

The property mainly consists of Flood Plain country where 2,300 ha of dryland cultivation is on self-mulching rich alluvial black soil flats producing generally wheat, chickpeas, sorghum and mung beans.

In addition, there is approximately 870 ha of developed scrub country and 476 ha of red soil tablelands, growing native pastures, improved grass pastures and some dryland cropping.

 

Eskfield sits on an 8km frontage to Lake Mary Anabranch of the Mackenzie River. The Anabranch fills when the River has a moderate flow and allows irrigation, which is utilised by other properties on the aggregation.

The property has two unequipped dams ranging from 2,293 – 3,822m3 and an equipped dam approximately 15,291m3.

There is a water licence of 900 ML from Lake Mary. Under this licence water may only be taken when the water level is above AHD 80.400 with a daily volumetric limit of 16 ML.
